With our proven history of frequent sightings during past trips, guests have an excellent chance to see and photograph these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
Nearby mountain excursions offer even more opportunities to capture stunning images of other wildlife, including Siberian ibex, Argali wild sheep, and various raptors. As guests traverse the rocky, snow-covered landscapes, they immerse themselves in the pristine winter beauty of Mongolia, with its vast wilderness, bright blue skies, and invigorating atmosphere.
Our experienced guides and rangers are constantly on alert, ready to notify guests of any sightings of the Snow Leopard or its prey.
Unlike the higher-altitude Snow Leopard habitats in the Himalayas, Mongolia’s habitats are at lower elevations. This makes the experience more comfortable for those who may struggle with altitude sickness, allowing guests to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery and diverse wildlife with greater ease.
With the mid-winter temperatures averaging around -25°C during the day and dropping to -40°C at night, guests are accommodated in traditional ger dwellings, ideally suited to withstand the harsh climate. These classic accommodations provide a warm refuge, complemented by hearty meals, hot beverages, and basic amenities tailored to the cold weather.
Additionally, guests are equipped with portable battery chargers and other essential gear to facilitate their exploration. In sum, our wilderness expedition offers guests a comprehensive and enriching experience, seamlessly blending adventure, wildlife photography, and cultural immersion amidst the untamed splendor of Mongolia's winter wilderness.
