Day 1. Arrive in
Ulaanbaatar. Drive towards Ogii lake and replacement at the Ogii tourist camp.
This would be your first experience of a mongolian ger. The camp offers you
wonderful view of Ogii Lake and will let you to have a good relaxation after
long-way driving. Tourist camp.
Day 2-4. Meet your guest family. You will be acquainted with the host and
hostess, talk about their life and interest about everything you want to know
from their common but interesting lifestyle. Following 3 days are spent with
this family being a member of it. Mongolian spiritually prefer the number “3”,
and it is widely used in their common life such as: A man should win “three
rounds” in wretsling and have “three songs” for the celebrations. That’s why we
suggest you to have 3 nights in herder’s family. The family will also respect
this number.
You can either spend nights with the family in their own ger, or have a separate
tent for overnights. Days are spent at their settlement watching after, or being
involved in their routine life. You will have meals with the family : milk tea,
typical Mongolian soup with noodles and meat, buuz (steamed dumplings), home
made biscuits and lot of dairy products like milk, yougurt, cream, aaruul,
fermented milk etc. If you are the good rider, you accompany the herder for the
pasture site. In the evening females will milk the cows and process it while men
collect the animals, set it close to the settlement for overnight to protect it
from predators like wolves. Get up early morning, have a breakfast with the
family. After the breakfast, everyone of the family starts to carry on his duty,
and then gathers for the lunch. The hostess or family children will collect
animal dung (usually from cows and horses) which is used to make a fire in
germ-stove. You will be offered to try to do it. On the other hand, you can help
them to carry a water from the lake. Nevertheless, do not worry if you cannot.
Photographing is welcomed. Warm talking and jokes and games are good idea when
people finish their jobs. Overnight in herder’s ger, or in tent near their
settlement.
Day 5. Return to the “Ogii” camp. The host will accompany you. This day
is scheduled for your individual activity at the camp. You can go for fishing,
walk along the lakeshore, ride a horse, or just have a time for writing about
your 3 day family stay. Tourist camp.
Day 6. Drive to Kharkhorin - the ancient Mongolian capital. Visit to
Erdene Zuu monastery - the first Buddhist center of Mongolia. Continue drive to
Elsen Tasarkhai, the north point of Mongolian desert with lovely sand dunes.

Day 7. Drive to Ulaanbaatar. Visit to National History Museum and Bogd
Khan Winter Palace Museum. Shopping for souvenirs and cashmere products. Evening
cultural performance. Hotel.
Day 8. Transfer to Airport.
